About ADB

All Day Brunch brings an irresistible mix of Motown, funk, fusion, pop, and traditional jazz to the stages throughout the DC metro area. Known for their rich, vocal-forward sound, the group delivers powerful performances built around Sarah’s soulful lead vocals that keep audiences coming back for more. All Day Brunch also weaves a range of jazz/fusion/funk instrumentals into their repertoire, and is also available to play all instrumental sets. From the smooth grooves of classic jazz standards to the infectious energy of funk and pop, the band effortlessly shifts between styles, making them the perfect fit for everything from intimate restaurants or coffee shops to clubs to outdoor festivals.

Josh – Saxophone and Guitar

Honed in Greater Philadelphia, Josh grew up listening to and then performing psychedelic rock and roll in his high school band. Starting his exploration into jazz bebop, he formed a college band in State College, PA . The band’s weekly gig with talented friends and special guests taught Josh the tools of the trade. He enjoys expanding his personal repertoire and songwriting with “All Day Brunch” and helping the band explore strange new worlds.

Chris – Keyboard and Trumpet

Chris is a classically trained pianist and multi-instrumentalist with varied musical interests that have taken him across the centuries and around the world in search of old traditions, new sounds, and the incredible people who create them. Raised in south-central PA, he studied classical and jazz before earning a PhD in ethnomusicology. He loves the challenge of expanding his musical horizons and growing as a musician with All Day Brunch.

Sarah – Lead Vocals

Sarah is the lead vocalist of the band, bringing soulful expression to its sound. With a style rooted in the swing era that can shift into the rhythmic pulse of funk, Sarah delivers dynamic performances that connect with audiences and elevate the band’s live shows. She was raised in close proximity to the Eastman School of Music, where she studied voice and music theory starting in high school. Sarah is a lifelong singer who—thanks to her grandfather—had early exposure to jazz vocal icons. She also grew up listening to Motown hits and favors vinyl over smart speakers. A public librarian, in her spare time she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Ben – Bass

Ben’s musical path is akin to “jack of many trades, master of none”, starting with a short stint playing piano as a child and then drums in his Pennsylvania elementary and middle school orchestras. After many more years of playing drums through middle and high school in various rock, grunge, emo, ska, jam-bands, and a klezmer trio, he picked up guitar to dive deeper into the performance and writing world. He played rhythm and lead guitar for the DC-based ska band Free Lobster Buffet for many years, and performed both solo and in acoustic duos, before making a transition in 2014 to bass when a friend’s band needed some support. Since then he has focused on the bass as a member of DC-based Cosmic Romp, Tribe i-95, and Animal Run, and has filled in for bands such as The Higher Numbers and Top Dead Center. When he’s not playing music, he’s enjoying time with his wife and two young daughters, mountain biking, water sports, the outdoors, traveling, and watching live music.

Daniel – Drums

Daniel, a DC-area native, has decades drumming experience, including a wide array of styles and influences ranging from big band to pop to classic rock to jazz fusion. After sharpening his craft in Ithaca, NY in a range of funk and jazz bands, he returned to the DC area, gigging throughout the region with Fragment37 (an instrumental jazz fusion trio) and AlonA (a progressive rock band). Daniel couldn’t be having more fun leveraging his background to play the diversity of styles with All Day Brunch.
